The Lieutenants on the day of their Commissioning and Ordination: June 20th, 2009

Robert J. Jeffery (Lieutenant), BA (Hon), MDiv (Cand).

Rob hails from Hopewell, Nova Scotia, a small village in Northeastern Nova Scotia, Pictou County. Born into a Salvationist family, warfare and worship became a part of Rob’s life at an early age. After high school, Rob moved to Halifax where he later met his sweetheart and future wife, Hannah. Nearly five years spent as an officer in the Canadian Forces taught Rob something of the leadership required to lead men and women in the “trenches” of life.

Rob describes his best accomplishment in life as being a dad to four year-old son, James. “It is a privilege to serve God as a Salvation Army officer every day. What an awesome (and sometimes wild) experience this is!” Rob loves to read, sing and make music, and jog. The History Channel and the Discovery Channel are the most watched programs in his house, and if you can’t find Rob in his office, there’s a good chance he’s in one of the HRM’s many coffee shops which he loves to frequent.

Hannah Jeffery (Lieutenant)

Hannah was born in St. John’s, Newfoundland, but grew up in the nation’s capital – Ottawa, Ontario. Hannah first went to church at The Salvation Army Ottawa Citadel, but has since attended many different churches and denominations, giving her a truly ecumenical perspective. After what could only be described as an “Abrahamic calling” to uproot and move, Hannah moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia, where she eventually met Rob, her future husband and co-partner in ministry.

To all who know her, Hannah is a dedicated pastor who seeks to do everything well.  She is a loving mom and is currently expecting another child (to be born sometime in February). Hannah enjoys walking, movies, and tries her hand at the occasional cross-stitch.
