Marie Kettle, originally from Ireland, came to Canada in the early 1980s and spent some years in Toronto where she experienced Canada’s Immigration system first hand before moving to the Halifax area.

Marie obtained a Diploma in Business Administration in Ireland and has a Diploma in Law Office Administration and Paralegal Studies from Ryerson University in Toronto. Marie worked in the legal profession in Toronto and in the Halifax area prior to getting involved in the refugee and immigration field.

Marie has been involved in refugee and immigration work in the Halifax area since September 2001. Before coming to the Salvation Army Marie worked for ARISS, the Atlantic Refugee & Immigrant Services Society, and was instrumental in the founding of that organization.
